software engineer & instructor, programming and ai
I write software for a living, and spend the rest of my time helping other people learn to do the same — from first lines of code to working with modern AI tools.
I'm a software engineer with a habit of explaining things — which is how I ended up teaching as much as I code. During the day I build and ship software; the rest of the time I'm in front of a classroom or a screen-share, walking people through programming fundamentals or showing them what's actually possible with today's AI tools.
I like the two sides of this feeding each other: teaching keeps me honest about what's genuinely simple versus what only feels simple once you already know it, and building keeps my teaching grounded in real, current practice rather than theory.
Designing and building applications end to end — from architecture and backend systems to the details of a good developer workflow.
Helping people learn to code, from their first program to writing clean, maintainable software — in courses, workshops, and one-on-one.
Practical, hands-on training on working with AI — using it well as a developer, and understanding how the tools actually work under the hood.
